After watching this episode of the Colbert Report I realized I heard this material somewhere before. Where? WHEN I SAW JERRY SEINFELD SAY IT IN PERSON THREE YEARS EARLIER. Don’t believe me? Since no one told me at the time that Steve Colbert would want to use the material, I didn’t have a chance to videotape it, however if you google "jerry seinfeld monkey bars" we do come up with the following evidence that dates back to 2003.

Princeton – 2003

Seinfeld went on to weave together observations about his mother, monkey bars, phone technology and the millennium, to roars of laughter. The comedian derided the use of instant polls on news shows "so we can get the opinion of people whose lives are so empty they have the television, computer and Internet all going at the same time…. Ladies and gentlemen, if life to you is what’s online, on TV, on the phone and on your e-mail, I’ve got an instant message for you: Open a window. It stinks in here."

Washington Post 2005

And why do we always see, in all these films, terrorists training on monkey bars? Is it expected that eventually a crucial battle is certain to be fought on a children’s playground?

Oh, YEAAAH!

I am tired of being traumatized by Google image searching.  For maybe the tenth time in a row, I just Google image searched for something and saw something that I did not want to see.  I was wanting to put together a picture of someone’s head and a cell phone hitting it, so I image searched "head throb."  Check it out for yourself here (warning, content may not be suitable for adults under 18.)
